Biography

Dorothee Hagemann is a fashion designer who combines an artistic, conceptual and experimental design aproach with a great interest in the textile crafts.
From 1996 till 2001 Dorothee studied Fashion Design in Berlin and in 2007 she gained an MA in Knitwear for Fashion from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London.

In 2007, – after having worked for innovative designers in London, Antwerp and Berlin, she founded the knitwear label COOPERATIVE DESIGNS together with Annalisa Dunn. For nine seasons they created premium knitwear with a strong graphic design aethetic, while at the same time forming a creative platform for like-minded people/designers from other disceplines (jewellers, milliners etc.) who would complement their (knitwear) collections.

Since 2012 Dorothee is living and working in Berlin as a freelance Designer for Fashion and Accessories. She recently founded a label for sustainable knitted Accessories and Homewear named WOLLEN (www.wollen.works).

For the Textiel Factorij project she joined forces with (her friend) Bernice Aalders from Rotterdam.
