Gerard Jasperse works in a narrative way of designing based on historic events. This is History-based-designing, connects local history with local aesthetics. Material, form and color are most of the times unique for a certain area. Using those aspects together can result in products that are unique for a location, a purpose or event. His work ranges from storytelling work with companies such as TNO and E-ON to self initiated historic projects about folk, the VOC and the North Sea flood of 1953.
